Kajuru castle

Kajuru Castle.
Kajuru castle would have lived for twenty eight (28) years at the end of this year. It has at least a  0. 5 meter thick Split Face or Mosiac granite stone wall finish as its walls. As its rumoured that a german expatriate contracted Julius Berger Nigeria to build this magnificent structure. There are beliefs that the German expatriate who built the place was deported during the Ibrahim Babangida Administration. The castle took five years (1984 - 1989) to build complete with turrets, armoury and dungeon, Sometimes last year, i was making a random search on instagram with a hashtag kaduna when I stumbled on this beautiful picture of a castle, words couldn't express how dazed I was knowing that this had been all this while in Nigeria. This led me to a follow up research online about this masterpiece of fine traditional Architecture.
Kajuru Castle is not an ancient monument. It was built within 1984 and 1989 by a controversial German expatriate who lived in Kaduna. The style is very European and clearly German, with a baronial hall complete with suits of armour. The views of the surrounding mountains and fascinating inselbergs are terrific, and i think were behind the decision to build the castle there.
Within the castle gate, there are bedrooms looking like dungeons and several towers with castellated walls. The road up to the castle is not an easy climb for the faint heart, neither is it for vehicles without plenty of horsepower under its hood.
This exclusive villa includes a guest tower housing 4 rooms, a central building with an authentic knights` hall and an underground  master suite (landlord`s residence`) as well as a dragon, yeah that's right a dragon. At the center of the ward is a stainless steel swimming pool and a barbecue spot just beside it to offers a wide range of grilling, baking, roasting and barbecuing opportunities. There is also a sauna to ensures a visitor's warming pleasure (only comes up at night). Also included is a well equipped kitchen.
It is Private Property, and entry to this place is not so easy. You will need to take permission from the castle keeper (some say he is a ghost). The castle operates in exclusive basis, only the complete facility can be rented out! The capacity of the castle is up to 150 guests but only 12 can lodge in full comfort. Booking would costs between 240,000.00 NGN to 350,000.00NGN per day (confirmed from fruity tours) and if you ask me that is good value for your money.
It was a mind blowing experience at kajuru castle kaduna state as we all came really ready for a royalty treat. All our expections where met, it was evident as non of us wanted to leave when it was time to. The picnic, swimming, hiking, sauna, bbq, luxurious bedrooms kept calling out our names. Everyone who works within the castle was courteous and pleasant. Our pictures speaks volume and looks stunning! At last Kaduna has a proper getaway location.
This masterpiece and a lot other's like it scattered within Nigeria speaks volume about the potentials depths tourism can go to reawaken and strenghten our economy. The average Nigerian man now wants to make more and relax more. We would continue to bring and talk more about beautiful sites like this that are located within Nigeria so we could always see how so blessed we are been Nigerians. God bless you. God bless the federal republic of Nigeria.
